The Plugins Add New Screen<\/strong> allows for the installation of new Plugins. Plugins extend and expand the functionality of WordPress. You may automatically install plugins from the WordPress Plugins Directory<\/a> or upload a plugin in .zip format via this screen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The top section of the screen has 4 links (Featured, Popular, Recommended and Favorites) and Search Plugins box. The Featured page is active by default when you click into the Plugins – Add New menu. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Search Plugins<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you know what you\u2019re looking for, Search Plugins is your best bet. The Search function has options to search the WordPress Plugins Directory<\/a>\n for a particular Keyword, Author, or Tag. Enter the word, or words,\nthat can be used to search for the Plugin you would like to find. An\nexample of a search keyword is backup<\/strong>. Hit the Enter key to initiate the Search. You will be presented with a table of Plugins under the Search Results link.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can also search the directory by selecting popular tags at\nthe bottom of Featured page. Tags in larger type mean more plugins have\nbeen labeled with that tag.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
