Headings help to introduce new sections and organize the content on the page. They make your website more readable by humans and search engines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To add a heading, click on the Block Inserter<\/strong> (+<\/strong>). Alternatively, you can type \/heading<\/code> in a new paragraph block and press enter<\/code>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can also add a Heading block with H1<\/strong> heading level by typing \/h1<\/code> in a new paragraph block followed by enter<\/code>. Subsequent heading blocks can be added by typing \/h2<\/code>, \/h3<\/code>, \/h4<\/code>, \/h5<\/code>, \/h6<\/code> followed by enter<\/code>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Block editor by default considers the page title as the <h1> tag, so subsequent Heading<\/strong> blocks are added as H2<\/strong>, H3<\/strong>, and so on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can also choose your heading level according to your style from the Block Toolbar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another shortcut method to add a heading is to type ##space<\/code> to add H2<\/strong> heading, ###space<\/code> to add H3<\/strong> heading, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Block toolbar<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Each block has its own block-specific controls that allow you to customize the block right in the editor. The Heading<\/strong> block offers the following options in its toolbar:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
