Administrator can\ncreate new page or specify existing one as Privacy Policy page of the\nsite.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: The new page will include help and suggestions for your\nprivacy policy.\tHowever, it is your responsibility to use those\nresources correctly, to provide the information that your privacy policy\n requires, and to keep that information current and accurate.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Using Privacy Settings tool<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Click <strong>Create New Page<\/strong> to generate a Privacy Policy Page. Or, Select an existing page which you want to use from drop down box and click <strong>Use This Page<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. If you click <strong>Create New Page<\/strong>, then template page titled Privacy Policy will be opened. But theme will support such function soon. For example, Twenty Seventeen adds the link to the Privacy Policy page at the bottom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To Theme Developers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For users convenience, you should refer these new functions.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li> <code>get_privacy_policy_url()<\/code> &#8211; Retrieves the URL to the privacy policy page.<\/li><li> <code>the_privacy_policy_link()<\/code> &#8211; Displays the privacy policy link with formatting, when applicable.<\/li><li> <code>get_the_privacy_policy_link()<\/code> &#8211; Returns the privacy policy link with formatting, when applicable.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the example from Twenty Seventeen (twentyseventeen\/template-parts\/footer\/site-info.php) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">if ( function_exists( 'the_privacy_policy_link' ) ) {\n    the_privacy_policy_link( '', '&lt;span role=\"separator\" aria-hidden=\"true\"&gt;&lt;\/span&gt;' );\n}\n<\/pre>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WordPress 4.9.6 included a Privacy Settings tool.
