Here it is: the second release candidate (RC2) for WordPress 6.2 is ready!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WordPress 6.2 is scheduled for release on March 28, 2023\u2014which is only two weeks away. Now is your perfect opportunity if you haven\u2019t tried it out yet. Your feedback and help filing bug reports are what keep the WordPress experience stable, smooth, and delightful. It\u2019s important work and a great way to contribute to the project. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to everyone who tested the Beta and RC releases so far. Since RC1 was released on March 9, there have been about 36 issues resolved in Trac<\/a> and GitHub<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to install RC2 for testing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This version of the WordPress software is under development. <\/strong>Please do not install, run, or test this version of WordPress on production or mission-critical websites. Instead, it is recommended that you test RC2 on a test server and site. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can test WordPress 6.2 RC2 in three ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Option 1<\/strong>: Install and activate the WordPress Beta Tester<\/a> plugin (select the \u201cBleeding edge\u201d channel and \u201cBeta\/RC Only\u201d stream).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Option 2<\/strong>: Direct download the RC2 version (zip)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Option 3<\/strong>: Use the following WP-CLI command:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

wp core update --version=6.2-RC2<\/code><\/p>\n\n\n\n
