The third beta release of WordPress 3.5 is now available for download and testing.<\/p>\n
Hey, developers!<\/strong>\u00a0We expect to WordPress 3.5 to be ready in just a few short weeks.\u00a0Please, please<\/em> test your plugins and themes against beta 3. Media management has been rewritten, and we’ve taken great pains to ensure most plugins will work the same as before, but we’re not perfect. We would like to hear about any incompatibilities we’ve caused so we can work with you to address them\u00a0before<\/em> release, rather than after. I think you’ll agree it’s much better that way. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n To test WordPress 3.5, try the\u00a0WordPress Beta Tester<\/a>\u00a0plugin (you\u2019ll want \u201cbleeding edge nightlies\u201d). Or you can\u00a0download the beta here<\/a>\u00a0(zip).\u00a0For more on 3.5,\u00a0check out the extensive Beta 1 blog post<\/a>, which covers what\u2019s new in version 3.5 and how you can help. We made more than 300 changes<\/a> since\u00a0beta 2<\/a>.\u00a0At this point, the Add Media dialog is complete, and we’re now just working on fixing up inserting images into the editor. We’ve also u<\/span>pdated to jQuery UI 1.9.1, SimplePie 1.3.1, and TinyMCE 3.5.7.<\/p>\n The usual warnings apply: We can see the light at the end of the tunnel, but this is software still in development, so we don\u2019t recommend that you run it on a production site. Set up a test site to play with the new version.<\/p>\n As always, if you think you\u2019ve found a bug, you can post to the\u00a0Alpha\/Beta area<\/a>\u00a0in the support forums. Or, if you\u2019re comfortable writing a reproducible bug report,\u00a0file one on the WordPress Trac<\/a>.
