{"id":2584,"date":"2013-05-11T03:44:41","date_gmt":"2013-05-11T03:44:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wordpress.org\/news\/?p=2584"},"modified":"2021-06-04T12:00:01","modified_gmt":"2021-06-04T12:00:01","slug":"wordpress-3-6-beta-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/news\/2013\/05\/wordpress-3-6-beta-3\/","title":{"rendered":"WordPress 3.6 Beta 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WordPress 3.6 Beta 3 is now available!<\/p>\n<p>This is software still in development and\u00a0<strong>we <em>really<\/em>\u00a0don\u2019t recommend that you run it on a production site<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 set up a test site just to play with the new version.\u00a0To test WordPress 3.6, try the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/extend\/plugins\/wordpress-beta-tester\/\">WordPress Beta Tester<\/a>\u00a0plugin (you\u2019ll want \u201cbleeding edge nightlies\u201d). Or you can\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/wordpress-3.6-beta3.zip\">download the beta here<\/a>\u00a0(zip).<\/p>\n<p>Beta 3 contains about a hundred changes, including improvements to the image Post Format flow (yay, drag-and-drop image upload!), a more polished revision comparison screen, and a more quote-like quote format for Twenty Thirteen.<\/p>\n<p>As a bonus, we now have oEmbed support for the popular music-streaming services <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rdio.com\/\">Rdio<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spotify.com\/\">Spotify<\/a> (the latter of which kindly created an oEmbed endpoint a mere 24 hours after we lamented their lack of one). Here&#8217;s an album that&#8217;s been getting a lot of play as I&#8217;ve been working on WordPress 3.6:<\/p>\n<p>http:\/\/www.rdio.com\/artist\/Atoms_For_Peace\/album\/AMOK\/<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Spotify Embed: AMOK\" style=\"border-radius: 12px\" width=\"100%\" height=\"352\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/album\/6dJZDZMNdBPZrJcNv57bEq?utm_source=oembed\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Plugin developers, theme developers, and WordPress hosts should be testing beta 3 extensively. The more you test the beta, the more stable our release candidates and our final release will be.<\/p>\n<p>As always, if you think you\u2019ve found a bug, you can post to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/forum\/alphabeta\">Alpha\/Beta area<\/a>\u00a0in the support forums. Or, if you\u2019re comfortable writing a reproducible bug report,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/core.trac.wordpress.org\/\">file one on the WordPress Trac<\/a>.
