WordPress 5.0 Beta 2 is now available!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This software is still in development,<\/strong> so we don\u2019t recommend you run it on a production site. Consider setting up a test site to play with the new version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are two ways to test the WordPress 5.0 Beta: try the WordPress Beta Tester<\/a> plugin (you\u2019ll want \u201cbleeding edge nightlies\u201d), or you can download the beta here<\/a> (zip).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WordPress 5.0 is slated for release on November 19<\/a>, and we need your help to get there. Here are some of the big issues that we fixed since Beta 1:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Block Editor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We’ve updated to the latest version of the block editor from the Gutenberg plugin, which includes the new Format API<\/a>, embedding improvements, and a variety of bug fixes<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meta boxes had a few bugs, and they weren’t showing at all in the block editor, so we’ve fixed and polished there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Internationalisation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We’ve added support for registering and loading JavaScript translation files<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Twenty Nineteen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
