{"id":9249,"date":"2020-11-12T23:49:45","date_gmt":"2020-11-12T23:49:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/news\/?p=9249"},"modified":"2021-06-04T12:01:59","modified_gmt":"2021-06-04T12:01:59","slug":"wordpress-5-6-beta-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/news\/2020\/11\/wordpress-5-6-beta-4\/","title":{"rendered":"WordPress 5.6 Beta 4"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>WordPress 5.6 Beta 4 is now available for testing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This software is still in development,<\/strong>&nbsp;so we recommend that you run this version on a test site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can test the WordPress 5.6 beta in two ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Try the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/wordpress-beta-tester\/\">WordPress Beta Tester<\/a>\u00a0plugin (choose the \u201cbleeding edge nightlies\u201d option).<\/li><li>Or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/wordpress-5.6-beta4.zip\">download the beta here\u00a0(zip)<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The current target for the final release is December 8, 2020. This is just\u00a0over<strong> three weeks away<\/strong>, so your help is needed to ensure this release is tested properly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thank you to all of the contributors that tested the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/news\/2020\/11\/wordpress-5-6-beta-3\/\">beta 3<\/a>\u00a0development release and provided feedback. Testing for bugs is an important part of polishing each release and a great way to contribute to WordPress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Some Highlights<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Since\u00a0beta 3,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/core.trac.wordpress.org\/query?status=closed&amp;changetime=11%2F04%2F2020..11%2F12%2F2020&amp;milestone=5.6&amp;group=component&amp;col=id&amp;col=summary&amp;col=owner&amp;col=type&amp;col=priority&amp;col=component&amp;col=version&amp;order=priority\">42 bugs<\/a>\u00a0have been fixed.
