Subscription Payments

ATLOS supports subscription/recurring payments in crypto. You will also need to install the YITH WooCommerce Subscription plugin to enable subscription payments with ATLOS. Let us know if you need to use a different subscription plugin. We’ll be happy to add support for it.

Please note that recurrent billing only supports daily, weekly, monthly, and annual billing schedules. Also, if a customer is attempting to buy multiple products with different subscription cycles at the same time, ATLOS will only perform a single payment.

External services

This plugin connects to ATLOS server to receive blockchain information. It will send your merchant ID and order details, such as order ID, amount, etc. to the server.

Installation

First, if you haven’t done so already, sign up at ATLOS Merchant Panel to get your merchant ID and the API secret. You only need a web3 compatible wallet, such as Metamask, to sign up. No paperwork is required. Once you log in, find the merchant ID and the API secret under “Settings”.

Then, install ATLOS plugin by either finding it in WordPress plugin search or by downloading the plugin file from ATLOS Merchant Panel and uploading it to WordPress:

Plugin Search

1. In the WordPress Admin Panel, go to Plugins -> Add New and type “ATLOS” in the search box.
2. Find “ATLOS Crypto Payments for WooCommerce” in the list and click “Install Now”. You may need to enter your FTP credentials.

File Upload

1. In the ATLOS Merchant Panel, go to Integrations -> WooCommerce.
2. Download the file atlos-payments.zip to your local computer.
3. In the WordPress Admin Panel, go to Plugins -> Add New. Click “Upload Plugin”.
4. Click “Choose File”, select atlos-payments.zip, and click “Open”.

Then, continue with these steps:

1. In the WordPress Admin Panel, go to Plugins. You should see “ATLOS Crypto Payments for WooCommerce” in the plugins list.
2. Click on “Activate” below the plugin name, then click on “Settings”.
3. Fill in your ATLOS merchant ID and your API secret. Click “Save changes”.

FAQ

What is the difference between ATLOS and web2 crypto payment processors?

A web2 payment processor works by directing users to send cryptocurrency manually to its hosted wallet first. Then, the processor forwards these payments, less fees, to the merchant.

With ATLOS, users connect their web3 compatible wallet and approve the payment. The smart contract then pulls the correct amount of funds form the user’s wallet and sends it directly to the merchant.

What is the advantage of using ATLOS as opposed to using web2 payments for the customer?

Web2 payments involve copying and pasting the recipient’s wallet address (or scanning a QR code) and copying and pasting the amount. ATLOS allows completing the payment with only three button clicks (or just one click for repeat users). No manual copying or scanning is required.

There is significantly less friction and a possibility of a user error or hacks – there have been cases of malicious programs replacing wallet addresses stored in the clipboard while copying.

What is the advantage of using ATLOS as opposed to using web2 payments for the merchant?

Eliminating the human element from the equation makes the system more resilient to attacks, technical mismanagement, and theft. For example, in a web2 processor, funds can potentially be stolen by a rogue employee with access to the hosted wallet. ATLOS uses smart contracts that cannot be altered or turned off once deployed to the blockchain.
