Blockons blocks are constructed using the latest methods and technologies for creating WordPress editor blocks.

This means it doesn’t include outdated, deprecated approaches used in the early days of the WordPress or Gutenberg editor. Instead, we adopt a modern and efficient approach to block development.

You can disable blocks if you’re not using them… Blockons only includes the code for the blocks used!

Installation

Requirements

Blockons does not require any other plugins, but Blockons offers extra WooCommerce blocks if you have the WooCommerce plugin installed and active.

Installation

Installing Blockons can be done either by searching for “Blockons” via Plugins > Add New screen in your WordPress dashboard, or by using the following steps:

1. Download the plugin via www.ads-software.com
2. Upload the ZIP file through the Plugins > Add New > Upload screen in your WordPress dashboard
3. Activate the plugin through the Plugins menu in WordPress

FAQ

Will Blockons work with my theme?

Blockons should work with ALL themes! But as themes and plugins add their own CSS or Javascript which might affect any plugin from working perfectly… We’re here to help… Let us know if something doesn’t work and we’ll help you fix it.

Where are the Blockons settings?

The Blockons manager settings and Site Add-Ons are found in the WordPress Dashboard under Dashboard -> Settings -> Blockons Settings.

Blocks Settings – As you add each block you will be able to edit the block live within the WordPress editor. Some of the settings also have help links or hints on how to use them.

I don’t see the WooCommerce blocks?

For the WooCommerce blocks (Account Icon, Featured Products & Mini Cart) you need to have the WooCommerce plugin activated.

Will Blockons work with other block plugins?

We’ve tested with lots of different gutenberg blocks plugins like CoBlocks, Ultimate Blocks, Spectra, GenerateBlocks, Otter page builder blocks & Gutenverse gutenberg blocks to name a few… Blockons should not affect or be affected by other blocks plugins or page builders.

I don’t see the same amount of blocks?

When we add new blocks, by default they are turned off… This is encase you’ve manually turned blocks off for site speed and loading.

We don’t want to auto-turn them on, so you’ll need to go to Dashboard -> Settings -> Blockons Settings -> Blocks and turn on the new blocks that you want to use.

You should receive a ‘We’ve added new blocks’ notice (which is dismissable) when we add new blocks.

This block contains unexpected or invalid content

This is most likely from a latest update adding new settings to the block, and so WordPress displays this warning because the blocks editor version looks slightly different to the saved frontend version of the block.

Clicking “Attempt Block Recovery” should fix the block.

Originally, I chose this tool because it is by the theme maker Kaira, which I find extremely useful. I was seeking an alternative to a very much liked plugin that is not working with the WP block editor. When I contacted support, they immediately answered and did their best to keep me up to date about the progress they were making. This tool is clean, nicely designed and full of potential growth to become as complete and useful as the theme tools. As I also know how efficient the themes designs are, I really look forward to the add-ons the developer is planning to add. Thank you again!

Really good addons to WordPress core

This plugin is really a great collection of features and a vital extension to WordPress core. I initially came across it while looking for a search box block with an overlay. Now I discover more and more good blocks and features and I already activated anything under ?Site Addons“ which offers things like: Website page loader Page scroll indicator (very neat!) Back to top button Using this plugin has eleminated several single plugins i used before. Two more tips are: “content tooltips” (very useful to explain terms in the content e.g.) or “block visibilty” which offers show or hide the editor blocks per device. The plugin / blocks are very well made and of great design quality and usability. Also the support is very friendly and helpful. My full recommendation!
