I was researching a different plugin for this purpose, but it wanted me to wipe out my WordPress database first (delete all content on my site). OH NO!! This plugin was so easy to use, and allowed me to keep my current WP content and import my posts, categories and media files from my Joomla site (you should put that specification in your description BTW). THANK YOU SO MUCH – you saved me hours and hours of work!!

Copied Joomla categories and articles to categories and posts in WordPress. No users. No menus. Images not properly connected to articles. But got the text content quickly, simply.

Joomla Importer is a superb tool- I have used it for importing the theme and contents, both. And I am happy to say it was damn easy to use. There are few alternatives that I considered and even gave trial run; but where this plugin mainly scores is coupling and cohesion of the framework to provide a functionality centered end result.
