What is “Overall Rating”?

It is the vote given by who writes the review: readers are able to see this vote in read-only mode. Reviewer can vote using the box on the top right in the editor screen. Remember to insert this shortcode [yasr_overall_rating] to make it appear where you like.

What is “Visitor Rating”?

It is the vote that allows your visitors to vote: just paste this shortcode [yasr_visitor_votes] where you want the stars to appear.

What is “Multi Set”?

It is the feature that makes YASR awesome. Multisets give the opportunity to score different aspects for each review: for example, if you’re reviewing a videogame, you can create the aspects “Graphics”, “Gameplay”, “Story”, etc. and give a vote for each one. To create a set, just go in “Settings” -> “Yet Another Stars Rating: Settings” and click on the “Multi Sets” tab. To insert it into a post, just paste the shortcode that YASR will create for you.

What is “Ranking reviews” ?

It is the 10 highest rated item ranking by reviewer. In order to insert it into a post or page, just paste this shortcode [yasr_ov_ranking]

Wht is “Users’ ranking” ?

This is 2 charts in 1. Infact, this chart shows both the most rated posts/pages or the highest rated posts/pages.
For an item to appear in this chart, it has to be rated twice at least.
Paste this shortcode to make it appear where you want [yasr_most_or_highest_rated_posts]

What is “Most active reviewers” ?

If in your site there are more than 1 person writing reviews, this chart will show the 5 most active reviewers. Shortcode is [yasr_top_reviewers]

What is “Most active users” ?

When a visitor (logged in or not) rates a post/page, his rating is stored in the database. This chart will show the 10 most active users, displaying the login name if logged in or “Anonymous” otherwise. The shortcode : [yasr_most_active_users]

Do I need to keep in mind all this shortcode?

If you’re using the new Gutenberg editor, you don’t need at all: just use the blocks.
If, instead, you’re using the classic editor, in the visual tab just click the “Yasr Shortcode” button above the editor

I’ve been using the plugin for its ratings and schema markup management capabilities. Specifically, I’m using the recipe schema and it so happened that Google changed its requirements as to which fields were optional and which were mandatory. Since the plugin was missing a field which became mandatory, Search Console started to flag my URLs as invalid. I got in touch with the support about the missing field issue, and the field was added to the plugin in 2 days, which I found amazing! Plus, I got notified about the patch being ready, and even got a copy of the updated plugin as an attachment to an email message before the official release to the WordPress plugin store! Huge kudos to the dev and support teams! And one more thing… I use the free version of the plugin, and I got a truly VIP treatment! Way to go team, way to go!

Has Mostly Everything I Need

This is an amazing plugin. I spent days searching for one that will do what I need. The only thing I think this plugin is lacking is the option to add featured images to the top post results. I feel that is a big need for me, but it’s also something easy for them to add so I’m sure it wont be too long before its added and becomes the best plugin for this. IF I could find the code that displays the results I could add it, but I couldn’t locate it.

We evaluated several plugins, and this was the only one we found that came close to meeting our needs. I was literally about to start writing our own plugin before we found YASR. David has been great at helping to solve some unusual requirements and even sent pointers to sections of code to help me understand the data structures.

After 1 month, I’ve discovered why my website received errors 500, 502, 503, 504. It was this plugin! A lot of another plugins was bugged thank this plugin and I could not work. When i was lucky to join on wp-admin, after a click I received internal errors. I was terribly angry with my hosting. 1 month before server crash, I’ve asked support to this plugin to solve incompatibility with plugin optimole. Stars disabled and both plugins don’t wanted help me. I’m so happy to have removed this plugin. It’s a a maleware!
