I’ve recently moved my web site to WordPress, and am just about to make the final move, setting the WordPress site as active. I set up a theme – one I downloaded and tweaked – on Friday, and since then, when I check the site in the morning, the default theme is active and I have to reselect my theme. (The theme viewer shows no theme selected.) Does anyone have an idea why this might be happening? If there were something wrong with my theme, it simply wouldn’t work; it wouldn’t stop working at a certain time of day, or after a certain amount of time.

    Thanks.

themes reset for a variety of reasons, typically caused by wordpress detecting errors in the theme itself, or more likely, wordpress detecting that the chosen theme isnt available.

If it happens overnight, every night, look to your host, OR any plugins you have running that use any kind of crontab.

the quick and dirty fix is to rename your chosen theme’s folder to ‘default’ .. mind you, in the event anything goes wrong, your site will be blank to visitors.

Well, I only have two plugins: Akismet and WordPress Stats. I’m not using any kind of crontab.

I’ve renamed the theme to “default” for now, but is there anything that I should look for in my server logs?
