I am getting 60+ lockout emails every day. I log on to my wordpress back end daily to make updates etc and then view them on the front end to ensure they have went through ok.

I get constant lockout notifications telling me someone has tried to access an invalid URL, when I check the IP, it is my own.

Which then has me confused as it does not lock me out of the website which has me asking, is the lockout as effective as it is expected to be?

Is there an issue with the plugin? All urls which I visit are genuine urls. And I have noticed that I get emails even if all I have done is use the back end to update the website.

Could there be compatibility issues with another plugin?

    Same here.

I’ve changed the /wp-admin to another path, changed time block to 12 hours, and still receive these mails where someone tries to access to my dash with different usernames like “admin”, “test”, “sitename”.

    Looking for help.

    Hello there,

I think I’ve found a solution. I’ve blocked all the usernames that the attacker tried. IPs couldn’t works because he’s using a different IP for each new connection.

    Hope I’ll help.

    Thank you for your reply.

My problem doesn’t seem to be with invalid usernames.

It is sending me 50+ emails daily saying that an io address is trying to access an invalid url. The ip address, however, is my ip, and I am generally using the back end and following direct links off the control panel
