I configured domain mapping on a development domain and everything was fine. I ticked “Primary domain for this blog” when I set the test domain up – out of habit. Let’s call the domain dev.com.

When I moved the site to the live domain I mapped the new domain and ticked “Primary domain for this blog” again. Let’s call the domain live.com.

Now when I access the site it’s still referencing the old domain in places. A good example is Slider Revolution – this is looking at dev.com for its js files. Obviously if I remove the old (alias)domain from my hosting CP, Slider Revolution throws an error.

How can I fix this? And how can I delete the old domain from domain mapping?

    Thanks in advance.

I realised domain mapping is included in WP core, so I used that instead. Problem solved.

That works. For reference the primary domain checkbox only implements a redirect. It does not update any URLs in the content or saved in settings or meta.
