• One of the features I would like to see, and I’m not sure if it’s already available, is the ability to get a single feed with multiple categories. I’ve got a friend using WP for example, who is a coder. I’m not overly interested in his coding posts, but I am interested in all of the other categories he posts to on his blog.
Is there any way to customise the feed to display only certain categories?
    Thanks,
    Ray

  • I’m also interested to hear what everyone has to say about this… I’m debating between setting up multiple blogs linked into a comprehensive site, or simply using different categories as different ‘sites’ in the same blog, but would like users to be able to pick and choose for RSS feeds.

If you pull the RSS feed for the whole site you will get al posts in all categories.

I haven’t seen anything that will let you choose categories of interest.

So your current options are either to get the whole site or sign up for individual category feeds in your reader.

I’ve made a really tiny plugin to get exactly that. It adds two (or more) new rules to the rewrite_rules wordpress table, to make possible get feeds for several categories. You can even give a name to a feed and map it to a group of categories.
