Moving Posts & Images from one website to another

The best way would be to restore the backup to a temporary site: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Restoring_Your_Database_From_Backup

Your hosting provider should allow you to create a subdomain off of your current domain, like temp.example.com, and then you’d install WordPress there and restore to that temp site.

Once the database is restored, follow this guide to change the siteurl and home values in the database to the new temp domain: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Changing_The_Site_URL#Changing_the_URL_directly_in_the_database

That will leave you with a working live version of the old site. Then, export from Tools > Export in the temp site’s Dashboard, and (while the temp site is still live), import into the correct site via Tools > Import > WordPress in the correct site’s Dashboard.

When that’s all done, you can delete the temp site.
