• Hi!
I love the scrolling header image but I’m wondering if there is a way to stop the image from hiding all together when scrolling down. When scrolling down I only want about 60% of the header image to be covered leaving the top 40% still visible instead of all of the image hidden.

Also on a page, the header image is just the middle section of the header image. Is there a way to define what section of the image is shown? I have tried adjusting the top and bottom values along with margins and padding but all that does is shift the center section and shows the gray background instead of shifting the actual image section.

    Thanks!

  • Instead of the header image, why not use the featured image for the page. You can crop or define it more precisely?

That doesn’t change the actual header image. It instead creates another image below the navigation menu.

As has been stated many times before. The header image is decoration only, set behind the branding bits. I was suggesting an alternative to the header image. Using the featured image would be very controlable and precise. The branding would still show above the featured image.

You can’t crop from the top. Instead you need to manually move the image upwards.

But as @stilman-davis mentioned, because the header image is meant to be decorative there is no focal-point control. You cannot specify that you want this or that part of the image shown across different devices. The header image will be cut off at times.
