After updating to the latest version of WordPress and Woocommerce the product images in the gallery are no longer linked to the slug of a variation. Therefore all the links between images and variation are gone and selecting a variation won’t make a different.

Is there a way to assign a slug to an image without having to remove them from the gallery and adding them again? Or to restore the links to the variations?

    Installed versions:
    WordPress: 4.9.4
    WooCommerce: 3.3.3
    SVI: 3.2.17

    Hi,

The update in no way deletes the slugs from the images unless there is something else in play here.
I have dont several updates and no such occurrence ever happened neither makes sense.

If you have a backup it will be better to restore, keep the updated versions but restore the DB. If you dont have one, request your hosting to restore a DB form the previous day.

If that happend, it’s really because there is something else doing it.

    Cheers,
    David

    Hi David,

Thanks for your quick response. Do you know if there is a way to edit/change the variation of an image that is already in the gallery without removing the image and adding it again?

    Thanks,
    Frederik
