• Hi, I’m starting a new website.

Does WordPress 4.9.4 have issues on localhost ? It seems to lag and come up with errors timeouts.. If I downgrade to 4.5.2 I have no issues.

This is really frustrating as I want to start a new website and keep getting these errors on 4.9.4 on localhost.

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 120 seconds exceeded in C:\wamp64\www\Mika2\wp-includes\pomo\streams.php on line 77

    AND this

  • I am running WPv4.9.4 just fine on localhost, Ubuntu 16.04 i5 x64, Apache2, have you tried a different theme or eliminating plugins ?

The healthcheck plugin could help here:
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/

There was a js package update that happened back in the 4.5 era, it hit some themes, I wonder which side of that upgrade 4.5.2 is ?

I have used Storefront a few times with never issues but I had started the last website with Wordpess 4.5.2 with Storefront and had no issues and then upgraded to 4.9.4 at the end.

4.5.2 I know has always been my safe WordPress version with no effects at all.

It seems when I have 4.9.4 installed… But most of the errors popping up seems to be Fatal Errors, like a delay in processing etc … Maybe that is not a major thing but a pain to work with whilst designing a new site.

    Using PHP 5.6
    SQL 5.6
Yes I have been activating and deactivating plugins also.

I have used the same plugins on a website that just went live, so thought I would be safe starting a new website design with these same plugins, but something is causing issues with the delay speed, very slow and different errors.

And I know my Divi plugin seems to have an issue with WordPress 4.9.4 also which I am liaising with them about. Still must be something else causing the lagging responding.

    Any ideas to eliminate ?

    Thx

I will try the plugin know as not familiar with that.

    Hi @kristinubute,

From the log you posted – I think that the slowdowns are caused by WooCommerce, especially by its locale loading code.

Do slowdowns stop if you disable or update WooCommerce?
What is the language of your WordPress installation, and do you have or have you had any other languages installed?

    Hi Nikola

Yes. I have now installed a plugin called WP Maximum execution time exceeded which has help resolve the issues.

I also increased my WP Memory limit also

This rectified my localhost issues with the current version 4.9.4 and updated Woocommerce which with all current versions seemed to slow down my WAMP localhost badly …

    Thx
    Kristin
