Questions on adding search form fields Tutorial

I’m hoping to add “City” and “Author” to the search form as one of the search criteria and came across this tutorial upon doing a google search

I’m not able to really comprehand all these information but after adding these 2 sets of codes to my child theme’s functions.php, I immeditaley saw a new field called Styles and All Styles

But hwo do I turn Styles into City and Author?

I tried changing the ”Style” on line 9 of the 1st set of codes and ‘style’ on line 2 of 2nd set of code to City to no avail.
