I just recently developed the same problem for an unknown reason.

I de-activated Jetpack by WordPress.com Version 6.0 and that took care of the error message. Now just need to figure out how to deal with Jetpack. Have rolled it back to version 5.9.

It appears that Jetpack version 6.0 was released on April 3, 2018. My error messages started about then.
