• Hi,

I have been using the WP Hide plugin since I launched my website last year. It has been working fantastically with all of my plugins with a few tweaks.

Last week, I installed the Formidable Forms API plugin to extend the functionality of my website. I was having trouble using the plugin and have narrowed it down to a conflict with the WP Hide plugin.

In the FF API plugin, I am able to click on a ‘Test Connection’ button to test the API notification URL. What I have found is, as soon as the WP Hide plugin is enabled (even with all setting reset to zero, ie. no settings in place), I am still getting an error. In particular, I am getting the following errors:

    – With the Basic Auth Key for the API entered: “There was a 409 error: Conflict”
    – Without the Basic Auth Key entered: “rest_forbidden_context Sorry, you are not allowed to edit entries 403”

Now I find this odd because I have not set any settings in the WP Hide plugin and yet it is coming up with these errors. As soon as I deactivate the plugin, the connection tests “OK”.

I have contacted FF support and this was their response:

“This isn’t a conflict I have heard of before. Maybe you can contact the support for that plugin and ask if there is a setting that might be conflicting with API calls? I’d recommend testing a regular WordPress API route as well to verify if that plugin is causing trouble with all API routes. Please take a look at the troubleshooting steps here starting at #4:

Could you please advise what the issue is? I definitely need to use the FF API plugin for increasing the site capability and connecting to Zapier and it would be unfortunate if I have to find an alternative to WP Hide.

    Thank you.
