  • I second this. I will have to scrap the whole plugin if this is taken out in 7.2.

@gokh As of the 7.0 release of Yoast you would no longer see the sitemaps option in the SEO menu, as whether pages/posts etc are included in the XML sitemap is controlled through the ‘Search Appearance>Content Types’ area. When you choose whether a page/post is shown in search results, this also affects whether it is included in the sitemap. As for the Advanced Settings, those have been relocated to other areas of the plugin. We have more information about the changes implemented in the 7.0 release of Yoast SEO here: https://yoast.com/yoast-seo-7-0/

    Is adding sitemap.xml separately?

Please feel free to refer to this article on how to enable the sitemap — https://kb.yoast.com/kb/enable-xml-sitemaps-in-the-wordpress-seo-plugin/

If you have generated the sitemap, the file that is generated by the Yoast SEO plugin should be https://sitename.com/sitemap_index.xml

Site 1: Originally installed Voice theme, with updated Yoast installed

Site 2: Different theme, then now change it to Voice theme, with updated Yoast installed

Now what went wrong is that the site of the Site 2 is not working, while the Site 1 is completely working.

There’s something wrong with the Yoast most definitely. And I’d also prefer the last version where there’s an advance option.
