• Hello,

I have several groups of users on the site. I provided through the settings of the plug-in “UM” (in the “Edit Role” section) one group of users (Editors) delete the accounts of another user group (Subscribers). But this setting does not work. To verify the settings, I was authorized under the account of the Editor, and I tried to delete the user with the Subscriber role. The function does not work – I can only edit the Subscriber profile. See the link to the screenshot. Links at the end of this message.

If I have been authorized as an administrator, I can delete and edit all users. But I need to have a delete / edit function for the Editors. For Editors, I made special permissions through the plugin settings in the “Edit Role” section

I do not use custom roles on the site. I use the roles that are the default in WordPress. Through the plugin settings, I in the “Edit Role” for the Editors made it possible to delete Subscribers. But it does not work.

I hope that I could explain the essence of the problem quite clearly.

I will be very grateful for your response and help.

P.S. I am sorry for bad English

  • Did you resolve this? I am having a similar issue where users can’t delete their own accounts or update their passwords.

I partially solved the problem using two plugins – User Role Editor and Admin Menu Editor. I also created a separate user who has access only to certain sections of the administrative panel. This user can manage the accounts of other site members, but within the rights set through the User Role Editor plugin

Hmm okay so it sounds like I need to employ a workaround then to solve the problem. Thanks for the response!
