• I upgraded from v2.05 to v2.08 in the hope that Registration would be fixed but sadly not completely. Users who regsiter are now assigned the Subscriber role only and not the UM Member role where I had set the Require Admin Review setting which means that newly registered users are in effect auto-approved. However, I have just discovered that I can also set Require Admin Review on the Subscriber role and this setting is then honoured and newly registered members have to wait for admin approval which is the functionality I require. The question I have to ask, however, is what is the purpose of the UM custom Member role i.e. why did a new user used to be assigned both the Member and Subscriber roles when surely one will do?

  • Another problem with registration. With registration set to “Require Admin Review”, all the HTML in the UM sent emails is displayed in the message.

    In Ultimate Member / Settings / Appearence / Registration Form / you can set Registration Default Role as “Member”.

    @xavibarrera – thanks, I didn’t spot that when I upgraded, it set that setting to Default which turns out to be Subscriber – I have now changed it to Member and all is good. Given the number of issues that have been reported with v2.0X it looks like a bit more ‘real-world’ testing was required – however, all credit to the devs, they have been quick to respond and support has been very good indeed.
