I can’t upload my new theme.

  • I just downloaded a WordPress Theme that I found using the search feature on my dashboard, unzipped it and saved it in the themes folder of my WordPress file. The theme folder does not show up on my list of files in my FTP (Cute-FTP), so I can’ upload it. I know the folder is there because I checked. I am totally new to WordPress, but not to uploading files using FTP software. What is happening? I am so confused.

    I am also very new to WP.org. Where do I find this directory? Is it part of WordPress or is it somewhere on my host platform? I have looked everywhere and don’t see anything that says wp-content on either. Please help and thanks.

    That’s the problem. I downloaded the theme, unzipped it and moved the unzipped theme folder to wp-content themes and the folder is there according to ‘my documents’. But when I go into my FTP program to that folder, the theme is not there.
