Recently our website incurred the wraith of a very persistent hacker. We ended up having to scrap the main wordpress installation and reinstall from scratch.

We had been using Powerpress exclusively for a couple of years and after the imported recent xml backup was completed, we reinstalled Powerpress with the same domain and feed address of the previous website.

Unfortunately, the iTunes channel isn’t updating and currently reflects the Powerpress logo in place of our original Album cover.

I’ve double checked the Powerpress settings, but everything looks good. What by chance are we missing here? Any help would be appreciated.

It looks like you got the logo back in the settings.

Importing the RSS feed from backup will not automatically get the artwork in the correct spot in the settings for PowerPress.

Are you still needing help with this? From looking at your feed, it looks like the new art is in there and you will have to give Apple some time to update it to the correct artwork in your listing.

Oh yeah, I immediately added the album cover back to the Powerpress plugin and updated all the settings to match my old system (keeping the feed link exactly the same).

But it’s been about a week now and iTunes still does not seem to be updating from the feed.

What’s the URL of your show’s listing in Apple Podcasts?

That Apple Podcasts listing is working off of this podcast RSS feed:
    https://streetpx.com/feed/podcast/

That feed is linking here for podcast art:
    https://www.streetpx.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/StreetPX-Album-Cover-New.jpg

And that art appears to be within the acceptable spec. Go to https://podcastsconnect.apple.com/ and log in with your Apple ID. Click the artwork for your show and then click the “refresh feed” link. It may take up to 24 hours for your Apple Podcasts listing to update. Keep in mind that current subscribers will get your latest episode as soon as they refresh their subscriptions, regardless of what’s being displayed in Apple Podcasts.

Thank you very much, Shawn. I went ahead and did what you suggested and hit the Refresh Feed in the podcastconnect dashboard. I’ll await the 24hr projected duration and see what happens. Maybe it needed a quick boot to the rear of the refresh.

Fingers crossed it works. I’ll keep this post updated at the turn of the time.

    Hey there crew,
Just wanted to drop an update in. I waited the 24hrs initially, but it never updated.

However, I went back to my powerpress settings, reuploaded the image again under a different name and clicked save. In doing this, I was hoping I could initiate a forced update through the iTunes system.

Thankfully, after about 12 hours iTunes did in fact update it this time.

So, to anyone else out there experiencing the same issue, I recommend reuploading your album cover (with a different file name) and resaving your settings. Give it a day and it should update.

Thanks for everything and all your help.

Glad to see you got the artwork updated!

    Absolutely, I’ll be happy to.
