    Hi,

I’m an old guy, and this is my first foray into the world of websites and chatbots. I have an IBM account and, following the tutorials at Cognitive Class, probably like most of you, I’ve managed to create the florist’s shop chatbot. It works fine in the IBM workspace.

I wanted to check out how the ‘shop’ looked on a WordPress website by deploying the Watson Plugin. I opened a paid WordPress account that allows plugins.

I copy-pasted my credentials from the IBM Deploy page and entered them into WordPress (plugin) Watson Settings. Every time I have done this (x20+ times), I’ve got no response at all. I don’t know if I’ve activated the plugin or not- there’s no message and, for me, no way of telling.

    Working through this:

    1. If the account is NOT activated:

    a) Have I done something wrong entering the credentials? (It is straightforward, and I have entered my Username, Password, IBM Workspace ULR, but there is no response.)

    or

    b) Are the credentials invalid, perhaps due to some kind of update?

    or
    c) Do I need a paid IBM account to activate and deploy the chatbot?

    2. If the account IS activated:

    a) What do I need to do to get the plugin onto the page?
    b) Where can I find an error message for the plugin?

Thank you in advance for your help, Wolfroad.

    Hi Wolfroad,

Thanks for your interest in our plugin.
After you enter your credentials and press the submit button, you should see a message at the top of the page indicating whether the submission was successful or not. If it is successful, you should see a floating chat box on your website.

If you provide the link to the page you need help with, we can also take a look at your web page to see if it is having an issue loading the chat box.

    Thanks for your patience.

    Hi Wolfroad,
we just updated our free course https://cognitiveclass.ai/courses/how-to-build-a-chatbot/. We made it much easier to learn how to add a chatbot to a WordPress website. You no longer have to provide your own wordpress site. Instead we provide one for you at no charge.

In addition, for those who are building websites commercially, we have a special offer that will provide a lot of free usage of Watson Assistant for a whole year.

    Hey, thanks!

I eventually managed to paste in my credentials and it works! Unfortunately, I have already paid for a WordPress site. I’ll check out the free site and see if I can get a refund for the existing one.
