    WordFence scans have started to fail with the error message “[APR 24 07:13:35] Scan terminated with error: There was an error connecting to the Wordfence scanning servers: cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10002 milliseconds”

    However, WordFence diagnostics says:

    Connecting to Wordfence servers (http)
    OK
    Connecting to Wordfence servers (https)
    OK
    Connecting back to this site
    OK – xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

    I had a similar problem in the past that I fixed by upgrading PHP to 7.1, which is the latest version my host supports.

    My hosting provider has asked:

    “It seems the connection from our server to Wordfence is blocked. Can you please contact them and ask them if 91.208.99.2 is blocked?”

    WordFence scans now working again. Looks like an intermittent connection problem.

    I’m new to this forum but have joined as I also have this message and concerned that scans aren’t being done!

    However, whilst I can upload to the website etc I am NOT an expert at all.

    Can anyone tell me what to do to get scans working again please.

    I have checked the diagnostics page and got the same results that show at the beginning of this thread.

    Hi @bannec,

    There are several reason why your site might not be able to connect to Wordfence servers.
    I suggest you follow our scan troubleshooting guide and check with your hosting provider if anything is preventing your host from reaching our servers.
