    We have just installed the plugin and all is fine for registered users, however for anonymous unregistered website users the cookie consent does not work and fails with ‘We could not verify the the security token. Please try again.’ when trying to access https://example.com/wp-admin/admin-post.php. I have searched but other than potential issues with wordfence and cache plugins (i have attempted to disable both to no avail)i have been unsuccessful. We also use google two factor on accounts and have also tried with this plugin disabled.

    Thanks for your help
    Andrew

    Hi @andrewfrowen,

    Can you share a link with me so I can test this myself?

    Hi @andrewfrowen,

    This is a special case. I would have to do some debugging to understand the cause of this issue for you. I can only do this if you grant me access to your environment and possibly FTP to check the debug log files.

    I understand not everyone is comfortable doing that. If it’s ok, send me temporary access to [email protected] so I can try to understand the cause and if it is something that could be affecting others I can publish it in our documentation.

    Hi,

    I have just the same problem, my website is: https://www.neocom.com.ve

    Hi @andrewfrowen,
    I see that you created an account for me.

    I need you to edit your wp-config file.
    Add this so I can see error logs.

    define('WP_DEBUG', true);
    define('WP_DEBUG_LOG', true);
    define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false);

    I will let you know when I’m done so you can remove this.

    Same for you @eabl1975. If you want, send me access and follow the steps above so I can try to figure out what is the issue.

    Hi,
    You guys have been very helpful, however i don’t want to leave open access and debug running for much longer, do you have any update on the issue we are having?

    Thanks Andrew

    Hi guys,

    Sorry, I thought I replied to you both yesterday.

    I could not determine the reason for this. Another user reported the same problem.

    From what I’m understanding this could have something to do with caching plugins storing the site for more than 12 hours. That would expire the security code and cause a problem. For logged in users this is not an issue, probably because of a configuration that is saying to not provide a cached version for them.

    You can both disable debug and disable my access.

    Ok thanks, was hoping to get a solution especially as most users are just visitors and not subscribers.

    Thanks again

    Idem… ??

    Sorry guys.

    I wish I knew exactly what the issue is. I suspect the caching plugin is the culprit, but I can’t say for sure.

    I will keep looking and if I find a solution I’ll update you

    Guys, I managed to reproduce the problem on my end.

    In my case, whenever I activate woocommerce, go to a product page and add it to my cart, I get the same error as you two.

    Are you running woocommerce by any chance?

    Hi
    Yes we are using woo commerce, any ideas what is causing it?

    Thanks

    Yes!
    I found out that WooCommerce manipulates how these security tokens are handled by logged out users. I’m working on a fix right now.
