Can’t add tags to posts

  • When I add/edit a post, I don’t see anywhere to add tags. I have a checkbox list of categories, and a textbox to add a new one, but nothing for tags.

    Any ideas? How do I add tags?

    It’s on my hosting company, I installed it via my control panel.

    I’m using version 4.8.6 if it makes any difference. There is a link to update to version 4.9.5, but when I tried it, it failed. Will try again, but the impression I got is that tags have been around for a long time, so this shouldn’t be the issue.

    Ah ha, just noticed that under the “Screen options” is a checkbox for tags, and it wasn’t checked! I checked it, and guess what? I have a tags box.
