Dyad 2 with own hosted WordPress 4.9.5 differs compared to wordpress.com

Lovely theme that worked with the wordpress hosted (see kartorp.wordpress.com). Just uploaded the Dyad 2 theme onto my own hosted wordpress version 4.9.5 and notice that there are slight differences which I need help with.

Featured content is missing – is it only available on wordpress.com see kartorp.wordpress.com ?
No palettes to choose from – i wish to have the header and footer in white and not the default dark grey. how do i do it ?
