i have tons of albums. photos from public pages.

do you mean to say that i will edit every single one of them and insert the access token? and after 6 months, i’ll do the same?

what if i have 1,000 of them?

For 1,000 albums you probably don’t want to create 1000 posts and rather use the gallery option.
BTW, It was a quick fix to avoid the new restrictions imposed by Facebook. I’ll add features so that you can manage and share the access tokens among albums.

    thanks for your reply.

the thing is, galleries don’t work for me. it could be a plugin conflict but right from the very start, it did’t work, so i didn’t bother.

prior to update, i only need to enter the token in the ‘common options.’ after the update, this feature was removed.

that was easy and fast. if you can restore this the better.

I had to remove it because now you can’t get albums from a ‘Page’ with your personal access token. You need a different access token for each of your page. So may users will enter a token generated for their personal profile or one page and try to get album from another page and it will not work.
To make it work properly I’ll have to make another admin page for token management. A user will be able to add tokens for all the pages/profile she’s interested in and select a dropdown on individual albums to choose which token to share.

You may try the gallery with version 3.4.1, I made some script related changes and now it has higher probability of avoiding conflicts.

okay thanks for clearing that out.

this is my situation. i have a directory site; each business profile will have its own page. if they have an active fb page, i choose 3 albums with the most photos, and then create the srizon album.

so right now, i’m at [srizonfbalbum id=229]

with the latest update, can i still do this moving forward? i’m not displaying my own pages or pages that i manage either.

    Hi,
Facebook is closing down that access soon.
You can grab albums from public facebook pages with the older version of this plugin at the moment (it’s on a grace period) but soon (probably on august 1st) you’ll need special permission from Facebook or a token generated by an admin of that page to do that.

ok thanks for the heads up.

it’s a wonderful plugin but i can’t see myself using it in the future.

That’s understandable. Your use-case/ situation doesn’t match this plugin’s capability anymore. I’m hoping it’ll still be useful for the majority of it’s users.
