Importing from csv – question re pack size

    I’m trying to import products from csv which is working well but there is only 1 thing I’m struggling with.

    Our products come in different size packs, some come in 1/3/5/10 packs some only in 5 packs, some only in 10 packs etc

    I’d like to import the products in such a way that a buyer could filter for 10 packs or those available as 1 packs or 3 packs etc. So pack size is filterable.

    I’ve tried a few things but nothing has worked so far.

    Any assistance/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    For the 1/3/5/10 packs, are those variations of a product?

    If pack size is the attribute and the size is an attribute value then you could use the attribute filter – https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-widgets/#section-5

    Set up Pack Size as a global attribute
    The pack size will then be for each product and variation
    The pack size attribute can be used as a filter
    The attribute values become what you can select.

    Does that make sense?

    Hi sorry please disregard last answer we are not using variations.
    Each variation is a seperate product.

    I have setup Pack size as an attribute from the woocommerce menu on lhs on wordpress so it is in the list with the standard ones, is this what is meant by adding global attribute ? if so i have done this.

    I’ve tried about 30 times to upload the attributes but no luck and am really struggline.

    So we have a column like this one below, we call the column below Attribute 1 Value? we don’t know what to call the columns so the system can recognise them? Pack size doesn’t come up in the list of mappings? please help pack size is the only attribute we need to import.
    Do we need another column for attribute name ? any basic example would be very helpful.

    10 Pack
    5 Pack
    3 Pack
    1 Pack

    When I added the global attribute it wanted to me to enter some values.

    Is it possible to enter a global attribute and the number can be anything within a certain range or better undefined and just added as uploaded from the spread sheet.

    What I’m trying to do is simple on paper, all products are simple products like beads, some beads come in 1 packs some in 43 packs some in 5 packs some in 12 packs etc

    How many columns do i need to do the above and how do i add global attribute to work in the way ive described.
