“Error establishing a database connection”

  • Hi there everyone. ??

    Basically, my subject line says the most-part of my problem. I had absolutely NO trouble viewing my site, dolcezza.net all day yesterday and last night. I woke up this morning, went to view my site and check on it, and all I see is a message stating, ‘Error establishing a database connection’.

    I just contacted my host in regards to this same problem just in case it may be a problem on their end, but I want to post here too in hopes of getting my site back up and running ASAP!

    ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!

  • Some possibilities:

    1. It’s a mistake in your wp-config.php file (unlikely since you didn’t change anything)
    2. Your web host (or someone else) has changed something database-related and you need to update your wp-config.php with that change.
    3. Your web host is having a problem.

    another possibility is your wp_options table has crashed
    might run a repair on it with phpmyadmin
