Can’t add United States

  • Hi. I’m trying to add US.zip (for the United States) to the plugin, but it never works. It just keeps spinning and spinning. I tried adding Australia, and that did work. Please help. Thanks.

    Hi,

    This is probably because the US.zip file is very heavy (66Mo). Look here.

    You can add it manually :

    • Download your US.zip file
    • Use FTP to put this file in wp-content/uploads/tmp/ (create tmp if not exists)
    • Edit wp-geonames.php. Line 24, remove “//” and change to read /tmp/US.zip
    • In Dashboard, install the file (same method you used before)
    • Remove your US.zip file
    • Add “//” line 24
