    Right –

Luckily, like in my last support post, I’ve still got Wordfence operating on my website alongside Shield Security.

Luckily, Wordfence warns me when a user is just a little more than a ‘user’ and emails me the ‘user’s’ ip address if they’re trying to use dodgy logon credentials or trying to access files that they shouldn’t be trying to access.

And luckily, Wordfence allows me to block their ip addresses when my patience runs out.

Running down the list of features in Shield, ie the security, the logon, the ip address, and the firewall options, I’m buggered if I could find a similar or compatible option.

So – for future info – where is the option to block singular ip addresses from the Ukraine or is shield only REALLY good for it’s two factor authentication options?

It sounds like by everything you’re saying, and even the tone that comes across here, that Wordfence suits the way you like to manage your site security.

We take a different approach. We got way too many more important things to do than read warnings about bad users; or go through our sites and manually block IP addresses; or any other manual tasks that could be automated with some intelligence. So we built Shield to do 99% of the work for us, and to send us warnings and notifications if manual intervention is required. If Shield already handles an event, we don’t need to know about it as we put a premium on our attention and our time.

Shield is built for people that place importance in the same areas. It’s not for everyone, as many people like notifications and interruptions.

If you prefer a security plugin that interrupts you with warnings and notifications, then it sounds like from what you’re saying, Wordfence or any other security plugin in the repo, is probably your best bet.

Unfortunately, Shield will never support the model you describe. It’s much, much more than a 2-FA plugin. But with Shield, you have the option to disable entire modules so they don’t even run on your site, so if you like the 2-FA system, you can use it in isolation. ??

    Thanks.
