Editors can’t log in today

Today, I can still log in as admin, but can’t log in with an editor or author account (and editors/authors can’t log in). I have tried disabling all plugins and clearing cache. I have tried changing editor passwords. No change in issue. I get this message:

Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.

UPDATE: I can get in by adding /edit.php to the admin, so there is still access – just the error message for login to WP login.

Any ideas?
