    Hi Tobias,

    Sorry to trouble you but I just spent an hour inputing all the data to update the table on my ‘Results’ page to bring it up to date. That’s 23 months worth of additional data. Unfortunately I get the following error message when I try to save it.

    Saving failed: AJAX call failed: error – Forbidden. Try again while holding down the “Shift” key.

    Holding the Shift key doesn’t help. I don’t know a lot about WordPress so I have no idea what an AJAX call is or why might be Forbidden. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

    The “Forbidden” part of that error message indicates that this is a server problem. My assumption is that some security or firewall software on the server (like mod_security) ist configured too strictly. For example, it might not like that there are so many URLs in the HTTP request to save the table, and it might (erroneously) think that this is a spamming attack. Then, it blocks the save request and returns the error.

    To fix this, you will have to contact your webhost company. They should be able to find out more about this error in their server log files. Then, they can relax the configuration of the software.

    I get a very similar message when wordpress logs you out while you are making changes. If you hold shift while clicking save again, then continue. Once you get to this point, immediately hit Back on your browser twice and all your data is usually there to save again, correctly.

    It’s not 100% but i’d say the data is there 95% of the time. I’ve frustrating lost an hours work before. Now i save every 20 minutes or so. That or copy the data to a word page before you hit save.

    sorry to hear that you are also affected by an issue like this. Unfortunately, the same applies as above: These are server issues outside of the control of TablePress.
