Setting automatically, periodically changes its setting from “Default”, which we’re using, to something else and everything in catalog gets 404.

    Hello @sfatllc,

I will try to help you to solve this problem.

Can you please specify what is the page that it is changing it to? It is really not possible that a setting is being changed without any action. What you were doing when it changed?

This is our main listing page, it’s shortcode-based:
    https://www.przewodnikmp.pl/baza-firm/

All categories subpages are also shortcode-based and added manually to the menu.

Enable Main Listing Page setting is unchecked.
Choose Main Listing Page is set to Default.

and everything works fine. But then “Choose Main Listing Page” changes from “Default” into “Baza Firm” page. We still trying pinpoint any action that could cause this. I was trying changing different settings, writing posts, changing info of a product and saving… For now it looks random but I’m in contact with site users to try pinpoint any action.

Looks like I’ve pinpointed the cause. Everything works fine when you reach any of the categories from main menu dropdown under “Baza Firm” but when you first click on “Baza Firm” and then you try to click on any category you’ll immediately get 404 and the setting “Choose Main Listing Page” in Settings is changed.

Which led me to investigate shortcode of the main listing page which was

    [page_children][show_product_catalog]

Is this correct? Did you change shortcodes recently?

    Hello @sfatllc,

The problem is that you are placing the [show_product_catalog] on different page than the main listing. This shortcode is meant only for the main catalog listing page so you can create a markup for entire catalog.

However it looks like you don’t need this shortcode at all if the catalog is working with the default settings for main catalog listing page.

If you want to display products or categories on a different page please use [show_products] or [show_categories].

Sorry for the confusion, we will try to make it more clear in next version.
