WP Visual Editor Broken: Uncaught TypeError: e.on is not a function

  • Have seen this issue reported in a few places recently (last 7-10 days) but there appears to be no resolution as of yet.

    WP Visual Editor is not working.

    Click Text then Visual and nothing happens EXCEPT the following code is inserted into the editor:
    <span data-mce-type="bookmark" style="display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;" class="mce_SELRES_start">?</span>

    The console shows this error:

  • Hello

    One of the possible reason can be some of the JS is getting a conflict with others.

    If possible try to switch the theme to default one and see if the issue still persists.

    If that doesn’t help, try to deactivate all the plugins except Visual and try to see if the issue is solved, activate plugins one by one.
