    Hello
    thanks for this plugin.
I’m really interested to buy the pro version but I will not do it until I’m not sure it works 100%.

i made a first staging site without issues.
then I tried to make another one, to do other type of tests, and here started the isssues.

The issue is that some times the cloning process stops during step 2 or step 3 and there is no way to restart or finish it. But most of the times the staging site is correctly created but in the files, the folders “wp-admin” and “wp-includes” are not copied. Only the root and “wp-content” (and subfolders) are copied. So the site not works. Manually copying the not-copied-folders solves the issue, but is time consuming.

    Error example from the log:

[DEBUG]-[2018/06/02 22:45:02] Used Memory: 189M Max Memory Limit: 268M Max Script Memory Limit: 215M

I tried in every way, also following your tips, but never succeeded without the error.

The weird thing is that the first time it worked fine!!!

I have also another two small issues that I don’t know if it’s realated to the main issue.

Issue 1: when I try to change the setting “File Copy Limit”, the new value that I select will not be saved, and it will shows always “1”.

Issue 2: in the “create staging” screen when I am asked to select the folder that I would like to copy (or exlcude from copy) I can click on the folder names to open subfolder list, but I can see only the first subfolder level. Clicking on the subfolder will not open it’s sub-subfolders. Example if I click on wp-content I can see the list of folder including the “upload” folder. Than, if I click on “upload” folder, nothing happens. So, as example, I’m not able to exclude the 2013 uploads folder if I want to do so.

Anyway just to do another check, after that I created the staging site without the wp-includes and wp-admin folders, I tried to use the “update” function of your plugin. I selected no database tables and I selected only one folder (wp-includes/images). When the process started I received the following error:

Something went wrong! Error:Unable to open /homepages/27/d717103608/htdocs/clickandbuilds/mysite/wp-content/uploads/wp-staging/files_to_copy.cache with mode a. Go to WP Staging > Settings and lower 'File Copy Limit' and 'DB Query Limit'. Also set 'CPU Load Priority to low.'Than try again. If that does not help, open a support ticket

Of course tried to change the settings as requested and retried, but still the same error.

    Hope you can help!

    Thanks

    Hello
    I just want to update.

I found the issue and is not related to the plugin but at the webspace.

Unfortunately my hosting provider sells the space as “unlimited” ad it is. But has a limit about “file numbers” that are limited to 262thousands. So live site + staging is about 200’000 files. Creating a second staging starts but when files arrive at 262’000 stops beacuse no other file can be copied.

    Thanks.

If you think i can remove the post if it’s unuseful for anyone.

Interesting, even though I did not know that there are webspaces plans who would be limited by the amount of files. Anyways, thanks for the valuable feedback. It could be useful for the one or other person with a similar issue.

Btw. Maybe you can try to skip a few non important folder, for instance old upload folders like wp-content/uploads/2015 and so on. That way you should be able to limit the overall amount of files on your hosting plan.

    Cheers
    René
