Give customer a free product on registration

    Hello plugin author / fellow support people.

    I want to be able to gift customer a free item upon registration on my site. The product is not a digital product but rather a physical product.

    Which hooks to I use and is it possible? Just one specific product on the website. I don’t want to use coupons if possible.

    I appreciate any assistance (theoretical or practical)

    Hi there,

    This would certainly be possible, but if there isn’t an extension already for this it’ll take some custom work

    One thing I thought of would be to use the CRUD objects. You’d need to trigger a new order upon user registration for that one specific product and set it to your preferred order status (like processing).

    There’s not one specific hook for this, but it’ll be a multitude of hooks and custom code. ??
