Issues with Version 6

Thanks for the feedback on the new version:

1- I have never been able to reproduce the problem with duplicate links being created on my test installation. Would it be possible to get an export of your site MySQL database, minus the user table? 2- I am not sure I understand the description of this second issue. Are you saying that p paragraph tags are show as plain text on the link page? I will investigate this tonight.

Having the same issue. It duplicated ALL of my links at least 4 times and gave them a “Not assigned” category. I now have to go through and delete over 1000 duplicated links. Also, all of my previous short-code inserts by category are not working.

You might want to roll back to previous version, rather than fix all links manually.

I will spend more time on the converter and offer a way to re-convert links as soon as possible.

As for your shortcodes, do you mean that code with a category override are no longer working? Since the override uses numeric category IDs, and I had to copy category data over to new entries in the custom taxonomy for Link Library, it is unfortunately normal for these shortcodes to no longer work. They would need to be manually updated to the new category IDs.

Yes, the category overrides are not working. I will roll back for now. Thank you for your assistance.

I will try to see if I can traverse all posts and automatically update the category IDs for short code instances. This would make it much easier to update. Stay tuned.

I updated to 6.0 and I’m having the same issue. I have 3 links which became 9 links and clicking on any of them didn’t work. I’ve reverted back Link Library v5.9.15.7. Thank you.

Were these links assigned a single category before, or multiple categories? I am trying to understand what could be causing these duplicates.

The links are assigned to a single category.

The extra links are in all of my categories. I have over 20 categories.

I think I have a good grasp of the issue. Will investigate and fix this evening.

I updated to 6.0 and I’m having the same issue. No links are being displayed — instead I get a message that a category must be selected… I’ve reverted back to Link Library v5.9.15.7, and all is well. Thank you.

I have just released updates for these issues:

I have re-written the import function, which will hopefully resolve the duplicate links issue. If you have reverted back to version 5.9, or have not cleaned up your duplicate links, you can go to the General Options section under Link Library and press the re-import links button. This will delete all of the 6.0-format links and re-import them.

I have also fixed the code that was messing up he display of the large description field.

I have not had the chance to find a way to update all shortcodes with category ID references yet.

Me too……duplicate links and no categories. Tried to revert back to previous version and that gives me an error.

Diana, did you try this in version 6.0, or the new version 6.0.1 I released minutes ago?
