    Hi,
    Can someone help please…
The map on the contact us page worked fine until recently i noticed the following error message:

    Sorry! Something went wrong.
This page didn’t load Google Maps correctly. See the JavaScript console for technical details.

If i check google webmaster tools, I get the following error message:
‘Googlebot couldn’t access the contents of this URL because the server had an internal error when trying to process the request. These errors tend to be with the server itself, not with the request.’

Is it a plugin error or a server error?

How do i overcome this problem please?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

Unfortunately, we could not find Google Maps WD on this page. Could you please send the link of the page where you have published it?

We will have a look at the problem and try to suggest a solution.
    Thanks! Have a great day!

I also am having the same issue…
    with this page

    I appreciate your assistance.

    Hi @fantasiasunplugge,

Please make sure you have added the right API key. Paste it to notepad before you add it to the API key field in Settings.

Also, check whether there are spaces at the beginning or at the end of the provided key and remove them.

If you have another Map plugin running on your website, use the same API key for both of them.

Please, let us know if the above mentioned instructions work for you.

Thank you and have a nice day!

I have exactly the same problem with my page. Worked fine for the last 2 years but now it just does not show the map anymore. I tried a new API key but no luck.

If someone could help that would be much appreciated

    Hi @becuaselifeisajourney,

Please generate a new API Key and paste it to notepad before you add it to the API key field in Settings.

Also, check whether there are spaces at the beginning or at the end of the provided key and remove them.

If you have another Map plugin running on your website, use the same API key for both of them.

Please, let us know if the above mentioned instructions work for you.

    Hi Web-dorado Team,
yes it kind of worked, now I have the map loading but a window pops up and it says “This page can’t load Google Maps correctly.
Do you own this website?” when I press ok the actuall map says “for development purposes only”.
As far as i know i confirmed my ownership of the page already.
Would be great if you could advise what this is all about.
    Thanks in advance

Just shortly an update I found this:
    API Key and Billing Errors

A darkened map, or ‘negative’ Street View image, watermarked with ?“for development purposes only” is returned when any of the following is true:

The request is missing an API key.
Billing has not been enabled on your account.
The provided billing method is invalid (for example an expired credit card).
A self-imposed daily limit has been exceeded.

If you are the website owner, you can fix this by getting an API key and enabling billing on your account, or by increasing your daily limit. For help on finding error messages, see the section on checking errors in your browser.

Because I use the free version of the Google maps WD I’m surely not setting up any billing accounts, so how can I use the map (like in the last two years, when this problem never occurred)?

    Hi,

In our future updates we’ll add the option “disable loading of font awesome by plugin

Would you please let us know how Font Awesome in loaded in your theme?

Thank you and have a nice day!

    Hi @becuaselifeisajourney,

We want to apologize for the previous answer, we just posted it on a wrong forum thread.

It seems like you have exceeded self-imposed daily limit. Please, try to generate an API key using another account. This should work.

Also, we ask you to have a closer look at these instructions suggested by Google Developers for this case.

Thank you and have a nice day!
