Plugin Automatic Update Login Fails

  • Hello!

    I am using WordPress 2.7.1 now and since the update I can’t update the plugins.

    There is always the message that the login fails (wrong username or password). I tried to change the ftp-user and password but it still states this message.
    I know that I’m not misspelling the password or username. I’m using the same user and password for regular ftp-upload with Filezilla.
    The hostname is localhost and it used to work this way.

    I know that a manual update is possible with a regular ftp tool but I still prefer the automatic update.

    So has anybody a similar problem or even a solution to this problem?

    ok…had to delete the database and do a fresh reinstall from scratch.

    I still have the same problem as the person above. I’m absolutely sure I typed the password right. I’m running WP 2.8.4.

    Does anyone know how to resolve this?
