Some comments on language from translation point of view
-
Hi,
I just translated this plugin to Swedish (although I don’t use it). If I misunderstood anything, then whoever is logged-in here may suggest better translations at https://translate.www.ads-software.com/locale/sv/default/wp-plugins/woo-discount-rules
I’d like to mention a few things that would be good to have in mind for the developer:
1. Avoid ending strings with space character. If a space is needed, add it separately, or add a comment to translators about how this string will be used.
2. Building sentences by concatenating different sub-strings. For example"By one ".productname." and get one free"
may not work, since the word “one” may depend on what specific product you’re referring to. (Actually, even in English you wouldn’t know if it should be “a” or “an”…)
3. Don’t put a space before colon. In English (US) you put the colon direct after the preceeding word. (“Number of products:”)
4. Somewhere you’ve linked to the developers site using http, and somewhere https. Try to use the same format and save us one string to “translate” (actually: copy…)… then tgmpa tries to use _n() in too smart ways. I’ve raised an issue in their github project, so some next version from them might be better fit for translation.
