Next/Prev Post Links by Category AND Tag

  • I have a client site that needs to filter next/prev posts by BOTH category and tag.

    For example, I need to have a post with a category of Testimonial and a tag of Higher Education to link next/prev posts ONLY to those that have a category of Testimonial and a tag of Higher Education. This is to keep separate audiences engaged with content that is directly relevant to them.

    Any ideas on how to pass two arguments in order to have both the category and tag of the next/prev posts match the current post?

    You can use the “get_{$adjacent}_post_where” filter to alter the WHERE clause of the query used to find the next or previous post link.
