Argument limit=”1″ does not seem to work

  • When using the following shortcode:

    [latest-selected-content limit="1" perpage="1" showpages="7" type="post" status="publish" orderby="dateD" css="latest-posts four-columns" show_extra="ajax_pagination" elements="30"]

    Limit does not seem to have any impact on the number of posts shown. Is this correct?

    It is not _very_ important, but in some cases I believe it would be nice to limit the pages shown by limiting the number of posts pulled.

    Yes, the perpage value is what is going to be used for displaying the items, there is also a mention about it under posts limit: This is the maximum number of posts the shortcode will expose. However, if you are using pagination, the number of posts does not apply, it will be overwritten by the number of records per page. Why would you use a limit of 1 and also the pagination?

    The limit of 1 was just to check the results. Imagine having the latest post shortcode set up on the frontpage. While we could have hundreds of posts I might just want to show the first 10 with pagination.

    The reason to do this is to have the pagination bar not dominate the front page.
